To be classified a “crystal”, there must be between 22-30% lead content, which is what gives crystal its’ highly refractive quality. Swarovski crystals contain 32% lead! Swarovski crystals are the finest crystal beads available and are manufactured by Daniel Swarovski of Austria. They are known throughout the world for their superior quality and brilliance. Some of the Swarovski crystals I use in my designs are AB, or aurora borealis. This means they have a pastel iridescent coating on one half of the bead. This helps the crystal reflect light and creates a beautiful shimmer of color in natural or artificial lighting. When you need to clean your Swarovski crystals use a mild liquid soap and a cotton cloth. Rub gently, then rinse with warm water, pat and air dry. |
